Adult Synchronized Skating
Synchronized skating, or “synchro”, is a specialized discipline of figure skating involving groups of eight or more skaters performing group formations and manoeuvres. Skate Canada’s SynchroSkate program includes a number of Synchronized Skating categories which accommodate skaters at any age and skill level. For our program we are focusing on adult skaters with prior experience.
When is it?
OCTOBER 15th, 2024 - MARCH 15, 2025
TUESDAYS 6:00 – 6:45pm
Who is it for?
This program is for former skaters, 18 years or older or those with coach recommendation. Skaters must be able to skate forwards and backwards confidently. The ability to do basic spins, hops, turns, drags and spirals would be beneficial. The goal is to start with a beginner team and build a fun program together over the season with the goal of performing it in the year-end carnival.

What will they learn?
The objective is for the team to perform as one unit, executing circles, clocks, lines, wheels and intersections in unison to music, while demonstrating quality edges, power and flow.
What can you expect?
Each session will consist of a 20-minute group lesson with a Certified Skate Canada Coach who will take you through the basics of skating, learning edges, control, and agility on your blades. The remaining 25 minutes will be spent working with the team developing Synchro skills and putting together a fun program.
What do you need to participate?
- Skates that support the ankles with a good set of blades
- Long pants, mitts and a warm sweater or jacket

We need a minimum of 8 skaters for this program to run.
